Fees, Refunds & Refund Policy

Road Test Fee: $70.00 ($80.00 on holidays)
Vehicle Rental Fee: $50.00
Appointment Reschdule Fee: $35.00
We accept cash, money orders, and credit cards.
 
The road test takes approximately 45 minutes to an hour to complete.
 

1. No-Refund Policy
All fees paid for testing services are non-refundable, except as expressly stated below.

No refunds shall be issued under any of the following circumstances:

  • Failure of any portion of the Basic Control Skills Test (off-road) or Road Test (on-road)
  • Failure to present all required documentation at the time of testing
  • Use of a vehicle that does not meet required safety or operational standards
  • Equipment malfunction or failure of a vehicle supplied by the applicant
  • Failure of any portion of the skills test while using a rented vehicle

 

2. Limited Refund Exception
A full refund shall be issued only in the event that a test cannot be completed due to verified mechanical failure of a vehicle owned and provided by A & M Driver Testing, where such failure is not caused by the applicant.

 

3. Vehicle Rental Fees
All vehicle rental fees are non-refundable, regardless of test outcome, including failure, disqualification, or inability to complete the test.

 

4. Rescheduling Policy

  • Appointments must be rescheduled at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled test time.
  • Failure to provide at least 24 hours’ notice will result in a $35 rescheduling fee.
  • Failure to appear (“no-show”) may result in forfeiture of all fees.

 

5. Arrival & Grace Period

  • Applicants are allowed a 10-minute grace period from their scheduled appointment time.
  • Arrival beyond the grace period may result in cancellation of the appointment and forfeiture of fees.
  • All required documents must be presented within the grace period.

 

6. Vehicle Inspection & Alternatives

  • All vehicles are subject to a pre-test inspection.
  • If a vehicle fails inspection, the applicant may elect to rent a vehicle from A & M Driver Testing, subject to availability and payment, within the 10-minute grace period.
  • If no compliant vehicle is secured within the grace period, the appointment will be considered a missed appointment.

 

7. Standby Testing
Applicants who miss their scheduled appointment may request standby status and may be accommodated only if a testing slot becomes available due to another applicant’s absence. Standby testing is not guaranteed and is subject to availability.

 

8. Acknowledgment of Policy
By scheduling and/or paying for services, the applicant acknowledges and agrees to all terms outlined in this policy.

Minors
 
If you are a minor and you have had your Level 1 Learners License for 180 days (6 months), completed at least 50 hours (40 daytime plus 10 night) of parental observation driving, and have received your Segment 2 driver education certificate, you are eligible to take the road test. If you are a minor, you must bring a valid Level 1 Learners License, Segment 2 Certificate, Driving Log, and picture identification. Your parent or guardian MUST be present during the road test.
 
Adults
 
If you are an adult and have had your Temporary Instructors Permit for at least 30 days or the Secretary of State has stamped your permit waiving the 30 days, you are eligible to take the road test. Adults MUST bring a valid Temporary Instructors Permit and picture identification. If you are an adult, no passengers other than yourself and the road test examiner will be allowed in the vehicle during the road test.
 
Vehicle Used For Testing
 
If you will be testing in your own vehicle, you must bring current proof of insurance and vehicle registration. Your vehicle must be road worthy. This means that the brakes and brake lights must work, including the brake light on the rear windshield or the center of the trunk. Your horn, speedometer, front and rear turn signals, and seat belts must be in proper working condition. Your rearview mirror and outside left mirror must be in tact. There must be seats for all occupants and your tires cannot be missing more than one (1) lug on the entire vehicle.
